Hex Zero

Privacy policy

Last updated 17 October 2026

Hex Zero is a puzzle game for Android. You don't create an account and we never ask for your name, email address or contacts. This policy explains the little data the game does use, why, and what you can do about it.

Who we are

Hex Zero is made by RKHansen Consulting, a Danish sole proprietorship (CVR 25849035), Copenhagen, Denmark. We are the data controller for the data described here. Contact: contact@playhexzero.com.

What the game collects

DataWhyKept for
Game progress and settings: levels solved, stars, tokens, options; tied to a random ID created by the game Cloud save, so your progress can be restored if you reinstall or change phone Until you ask us to delete it
How the game is played: levels started and finished, moves, time taken, hints and other in-game events; device model, Android version, language and approximate country (derived from your IP address, which is not stored) To find levels that are too hard or too easy and to improve the game Up to 14 months
Crash reports: what went wrong, device model and Android version To find and fix crashes 90 days
App instance ID: a random ID for this installation To deliver game settings, new level packs and tests of new features (for example, half of players trying a feature first) As long as the game is installed

None of this identifies you by name. We don't sell your data, and we don't use it for advertising today.

Services we use

The game runs on Google Firebase, which processes this data for us: Google Analytics for Firebase, Firebase Crashlytics, Firebase Authentication (an anonymous sign-in, no email or password), Cloud Firestore (your cloud save, stored in Belgium), Remote Config, A/B Testing and Firebase Hosting (level downloads). Google may process data outside the EU; it does so under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and the European Commission's standard contractual clauses. See Firebase's privacy information.

Legal basis

Cloud save is part of the service you use (performance of a contract). Gameplay statistics and crash reports are based on our legitimate interest in keeping the game working and fair to play. You can object at any time (see below).

Coming later

We plan to add optional rewarded ads, in-app purchases and Google Play Games sign-in. Before any of these arrive, we will update this policy and, where the law requires it, ask for your consent in the game first.

Children

Hex Zero is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect data from them. If you believe a child has used the game and want their data removed, contact us.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you can ask to see, correct, delete or receive a copy of your data, and object to or restrict how we use it. Email contact@playhexzero.com. Uninstalling the game stops all collection. To delete your cloud save and statistics, email us and we will remove them within 30 days. If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the Danish Data Protection Agency (Datatilsynet).

Changes

When this policy changes, we update the date at the top. Important changes will also be shown in the game.
